The Great Barrington Fire District Water Department preserves and maintains the Fire District's Water Distribution System, including fire hydrants, underground piping, storage tanks and pumping stations.
NOTICE OF INTENT TO FILE APPLICATION
The Great Barrington Fire District intends to file an application for federal financial assistance with the U. S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Rural Utilities Service. The project includes Ultraviolet Disinfection at the Green River Pump Station and an Interconnection with the Housatonic Water Works Company. Any comments regarding this application should be submitted to the Great Barrington Fire District.
The Great Barrington Fire District's major mission has been to provide water for fire protection and domestic use. For many years, it also maintained sidewalks and sewers within the district.
